THE BUYING ANSWER

Start with a clear definition.

Identify which panels are lined and show how the lining meets the outer fabric at openings and hems. Review the inside of the assembled sample. The outer photograph cannot confirm whether lining is present, secure or finished as intended.

The decision behind the detail.

A full lining and selected lined panels create different constructions. Specify the scope rather than using lined as a single unchecked description.

PREPARE ONLY WHAT IS RELEVANT

Three details to bring.

Lined areas
Mark every panel that requires lining.
Joining edges
Describe the openings and edges where layers meet.
Material reference
Identify the proposed lining independently from the outer fabric.

Check together

  • Inspect the reverse side of the sample.
  • Check that lining does not distort the approved shape.
  • Record any area deliberately left unlined.
