THE BUYING ANSWER

Start with a clear definition.

Give the revised pattern a clear identifier and connect it to the updated measurement chart and approval comments. State which earlier pattern it replaces. A new file name without a change record can still leave the production reference ambiguous.

The decision behind the detail.

Multiple teams may hold different files. Make the current version explicit and retain older versions as history rather than silently overwriting every reference.

PREPARE ONLY WHAT IS RELEVANT

Three details to bring.

Active pattern
Record the file name, date and revision in use.
Linked records
Identify the matching chart and approved sample.
Superseded version
Name the pattern that should no longer define production.

Check together

  • Verify every affected size was updated.
  • Check that the approved sample matches the active pattern.
  • Record receipt of the revised files by the responsible team.
