THE BUYING ANSWER

Start with a clear definition.

Name the individual unit, any inner grouping and the outer shipping carton. Record the count at each level and whether mixed variants are allowed. This prevents a carton quantity from being confused with the number of sellable units.

The decision behind the detail.

Changing an inner pack can affect both warehouse handling and carton totals. Keep the full hierarchy visible.

PREPARE ONLY WHAT IS RELEVANT

Three details to bring.

Packing levels
List each level used in the proposal.
Counts
Record units per group and groups per carton.
Mixing rule
State whether different variants may share a group.

Check together

  • Reconcile all levels with the order total.
  • Use clear names rather than box alone.
  • Update the hierarchy after packing changes.
