THE BUYING ANSWER

Start with a clear definition.

Mark each opening's position relative to stable garment reference points, and record the opening dimensions separately. Review both placement and shape on the sample. Symmetric flat appearance alone does not establish suitable movement when worn.

The decision behind the detail.

Changing an armhole can affect adjacent seams and panels. Record the requested change on the same drawing used for the other garment measurements.

PREPARE ONLY WHAT IS RELEVANT

Three details to bring.

Placement references
Identify the seam or centre line used to locate each opening.
Opening shape
Describe the proposed contour and dimensions to check.
Fit observations
Record specific movement or alignment concerns for review.

Check together

  • Compare left and right openings using the same method.
  • Check the sample revision after any panel change.
  • Request a new fit review when the opening geometry changes.
