THE BUYING ANSWER
Start with a clear definition.
Identify the complete product, pack structure, artwork, inserts, labels and arrangement approved together. Keep photographs and contents records connected to the physical reference. An empty packaging sample alone does not define the packed unit.
The decision behind the detail.
Variant labels may change while the structure stays the same. State which parts are shared and which are variable.
AN EXAMPLE OF A CLEARER BUYER REQUEST
Put the question to work.
- Too open to interpret
- “Use premium packaging.”
- A more useful request
- “Review the selected item inside its proposed pack. Show the folding, visible label, protection for raised details and opening sequence. Identify the complete pack revision before approving the presentation.”
What this clarifies: A complete product-and-pack reference, rather than a subjective packaging adjective.
Illustrative wording. Replace it with your actual requirements; it is not a confirmed specification or offer.PREPARE ONLY WHAT IS RELEVANT
Three details to bring.
- Master reference
- Record the approved packed sample identifier.
- Shared elements
- List common structure, artwork and arrangement.
- Variant elements
- Identify information or contents that change by SKU.
Check together
- Check the reference matches the current product revision.
- Keep packing counts and instructions with it.
- Replace the active reference after an approved change.
