BRIEF → SAMPLE → BULK

How a bulk or custom order
moves from brief to production.

Send a reference or tech pack, request samples, then confirm packing, labels, carton marks and commercial terms in writing before production. For mixed private-label assortment planning, use the Amazon & DTC private label pillar — this page is the shared Brief → Sample → Bulk process those projects still follow. Cat trees can join the same brief when specified.

HOW A PROJECT MOVES

Brief → Sample → Bulk.

Brief → Sample → Bulk for Amazon & DTC private label and mixed wholesale lots. Timing, MOQ and price are confirmed for each project—not as site-wide claims.

  1. 01

    Brief

For Amazon & DTC sellers: share the mixed assortment (apparel, bandanas, beds — and cat trees if needed), destination, private label notes and listing/pack goals. Quote follows your brief.

  2. 02

    Sample

Request samples for the styles you plan to list. Agree scope, review the physical reference and record approved changes before you lock artwork or packing.

  3. 03

    Bulk

Confirm the production specification, retail-ready labels/packing, QC scope and commercial terms for the mixed batch — still no site-wide MOQ claim.

SHARED ORDER PROCESS

Turn a product idea into
a written sample brief.

A sketch, tech pack, ASIN reference photo or competitor link is enough to open the brief. Mark what stays, what changes and what is still unknown — including labels, retail packing and carton plans. Next: agree sample scope, materials and measurements. For mixed private-label ranges across apparel, bandanas and beds, read the dedicated pillar first.

  1. BriefAssortment, market and estimated volume for the order you intend to place.
  2. SampleReference images, marked changes, size and label checks.
  3. BulkApproved version, packing, QC scope and commercial terms confirmed on quote.

BEFORE PRODUCTION

What we confirm in writing
before production.

We do not publish a single MOQ, lead time or price list across all families. The points below are agreed for your project and recorded before bulk production starts.

  • Product reference or model description and agreed changes
  • Materials, dimensions / size chart and construction notes
  • Private label artwork, label placement and packing format
  • Quantity by style, colour and size
  • Packed dimensions and gross weight when required for freight planning
  • QC / inspection scope and acceptance criteria for the batch
  • Price basis (for example FOB or EXW) and commercial terms for that order

YOUR CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT DESK

From the look
to the details.

Use the material study to shape your brief. Each choice becomes a question to resolve in the sample, rather than an assumed specification.

Explore the material and branding study

Fabric, ribbon, ruffle, blank label and packing material development board

Material and presentation study. Review physical swatches, artwork and packing requirements for your order.

Start with a palette, then specify the fabric.

Bring colour references or physical swatches. Discuss the base fabric, pattern scale and how different materials appear together.

  • Colour reference for each component
  • Fabric composition and weight to confirm
  • Sample review under agreed lighting

CUSTOM BATCH PRODUCTION

What needs to be customised?

Review the requirements below with our team. Feasibility, MOQ, sample cost and timing are confirmed for the selected product and changes.

REQUIREMENTS TO REVIEW

Define the material for each component.

Identify each fabric or component, colour reference and trim. For an apparel range, separate the upper, skirt and decorative details. For cat furniture, name the base, platforms, posts and coverings. Availability is reviewed against the quantities.

  • Component or fabric description
  • Colour reference and colour quantities
  • Sample changes to confirm

SAMPLE APPROVAL / A SHARED REFERENCE

Approve a version.
Keep the decisions.

An attractive sample is only part of an approval. Record the exact version, measurements, changes and unresolved points so your buying team and the production team can refer to the same decision. Use the blank worksheet below.

01 / IDENTIFY

Which version?

Record the style, colour, size, sample date and revision. Attach the same reference to the changes being discussed.

02 / REVIEW

What changes?

List measurements, materials, trims, labels and packing separately. Leave unresolved points visible until reviewed.

03 / AGREE

What defines the batch?

Identify the agreed version and approved changes. Keep quantities, checks and packing instructions connected to that record.

SUPPLIER & ORDER EVALUATION

Make the order clear
before you commit.

A considered design still needs a clear buying record. Put the company roles, approved product and packing requirements beside the commercial terms before placing the order.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Buyer questions, answered briefly.

What happens after I send a sourcing brief?

We review the references, quantities and destination, then confirm what the sample must answer and what remains open. Sample scope, cost and timing are confirmed on quote. The approved sample revision becomes the written reference for bulk production.

How do OEM and private-label steps differ in this process?

OEM starts from your drawing or reference with marked changes; private-label branding starts from a selected style plus your labels and packing. List the changes in the brief rather than relying on the label alone. Mixed private-label assortment notes live on the Amazon & DTC pillar page.

Can one brief combine styles, sizes and product families?

Yes. Show quantity for every style, colour and size, including any cat tree models. Minimums are confirmed at the product or variant level, not inferred from the combined total. For Amazon or DTC mixed ranges, use the dedicated private-label pillar.

When are sample and bulk timing confirmed?

After the product, materials, changes and quantity breakdown have been reviewed. Ask for sample preparation, revisions, bulk production and transit to be listed separately. Share your required arrival date; the schedule is confirmed on quote for that project.

What must be approved before bulk production starts?

Identify the sample revision and approve materials, dimensions, construction, trims, labels and packing in writing. Record quantities, inspection criteria and open changes with the same order file as price, payment and shipment terms.

Where do I read about mixed private label for Amazon and DTC?

Use /amazon-dtc-private-label/ for mixed private-label assortment planning, labels and a first test batch. This page covers the shared Brief → Sample → Bulk process that those projects still follow.

What helps a repeat order move faster?

Reference the earlier style and approved sample version, then state the new quantity breakdown and any changes. Reconfirm fabric, trims, colour, labels and packing, plus current availability and order terms on quote.
