THE BUYING ANSWER
Start with a clear definition.
Review the quoted date, product revision, quantity, material assumptions and validity terms. Ask for reconfirmation when the order changes or the stated validity period has ended. Do not infer that an earlier discussion remains an active offer.
The decision behind the detail.
Even an unchanged style name may conceal a new label or packing requirement. Compare the current brief with the quote line by line before negotiating only the price.
PREPARE ONLY WHAT IS RELEVANT
Three details to bring.
- Quote identifier
- Record the date and version of the offer being reviewed.
- Changed inputs
- List quantity, material or packing changes since that offer.
- Reconfirmation
- Note which terms need a current written response.
Check together
- Match the offer to the latest sample revision.
- Check all optional charges are still understood.
- Archive superseded offers without confusing them with the current one.
